Dayn, this just breaks my heart. I have had nervous fits in businesses when my laptop is in the car, thinking about what thugs are around the corner waiting to swipe it. And all my data, my pictures, my music, would just be gone. I am so, so sorry about this! I have been praying too and hoping, I really have, but am mostly feeling aggravated for you.
Remember when Jason's backpack got stolen in Anchorage a couple years back? Similar situation in that it wasn't just a personal pack for hobby hiking. It was filled with gear for his work in search and rescue, purchased with his own money. Plus it was the pack he had worn on the PCT and had several irreplaceable, sentimental items in it.
So, in case you weren't sad enough, there was another sad story for you. Just want to somehow reiterate that we somewhat know how you feel and are very, very sad about this.
And praying.
